    Dr. Michael Chua, PT, DPT, CDP, CADDCT, SFS, CCI

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Michael Chua is a Physical Therapist practicing in Home Health, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Acute Care Hospital. His clinical interest involves pain management, geriatrics and dementia management. He enjoys treating patients and bringing out the best in them using positive treatment approaches, his dynamic work setting in a rural area provides an opportunity to treat a wide range from geriatrics to orthopedics. He is also the Chief Inspirational Officer for TN Therapy Outsource, LLC and the author of MisUnderstanding Dementia, Time to Fly, 365 Daily Tips for Dementia Caregivers and Caregivers Freedom Journal.

     

    He received his Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Perpetual Help Rizal 1999 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of Incarnate Word at Texas 2014 wherein he graduated Cum Laude. He is a Certified Clinical Instructor, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Senior Fitness Specialist. He is a member of American Physical Therapist Association, Tennessee Physical Therapy Association, National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, Academy of Filipino-American Physical Therapist and National Academy of Sports Medicine. Michael stays up to date with the latest physical therapy and dementia re-direction techniques by attending various continuing education seminars to provide an evidence based and cost effective treatment.

    Dr. Michael is married to Puppen and are proud parents to Alyssa, Akeisha and Izaiah. Currently, Michael and his family lives in Martin, Tennessee.

    Dr. Shaun Barrios, PT, DPT

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Shaun is a physical therapist who practices in home health setting since 2011. He graduated Bachelor of Science from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a degree in Exercise Science and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN 2009. His work experience includes Acute Care at Jackson Madison County General Hospital from 2009 to 2011 and currently working as a Home Health Physical Therapist for Intrepid, USA. He loves treating patients and bringing out the best in them by providing evidenced based treatment approaches such as balance and fall prevention. He is trained in treating BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, generalized weakness and deconditioning. His hobbies includes going to church, cooking, personal fitness and enjoying time with his family. He is happily married to Leigh Ann and is the father of Peyton, Grayson and Finley.

    Dr. Stacy Millar, PT, DPT, GCS, CDP

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Stacy Millar is a practicing Physical Therapist of eleven years, having earned her B.S. (Exercise, Sport, and Health Education) at Radford University, VA and then her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. She has earned her Board-Certified Specialization in Geriatrics and is a Credentialed Dementia Practitioner. While practicing in mostly Skilled Nursing Facilities and acute care, she has further developed a deep passion for treating and educating all forms of Dementia...a passion that started when her own grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. From that point on, she has made it her mission to advocate for Dementia patients and help their loved ones “meet them where they are.” Not only has she been a chairman of the local Alzheimer’s Association to raise awareness and funds for research and assistance to families but she is currently in the process of expanding into Home Health in order to facilitate Dementia patients’ comfortability at home.


    She has been a CEU lecturer for both Allied Health Education and the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association. She has also provided several guest lectures for Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN. She currently reviews and approves Continuing Education Unit criteria for the TPTA.
     

    Her other passion in life is her family. She is happily married to her husband and has two beautiful daughters that are as different from each other as they can be, which keeps her on her toes all day, every day! She practices throughout all of Northeast Tennessee from her base of operations in Johnson City.

    Blake Murphy, PTA, BS, SFS, CCI

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Blake Murphy is a Physical Therapist Assistant with 26 years of experience and has worked every day to enhance lives by going above and beyond to provide specialized skill and compassionate one on once care to his patients.

     

    He was also recognized by Extendicare Corporate Home Office as the 2017 Therapist of the Year and was selected from a pool of roughly 1,600 therapist among the company's 600 offices nationwide.

     

    “I have always wanted to work in the medical field,” said Murphy. “Every day is different. There is nothing better than being able to help people on their path to recovery.”

     

    Blake is a 1997 graduate of Jackson State Community College, where he completed the Physical Therapist Assistant program. He is the first physical therapist assistant in his company to receive this honor. He has a Bachelor's degree of Biology at Union University. He is a member of American Physical Therapy Association and is a Certified Clinical Instructor, additionally, he is also a Certified Senior Fitness Specialist thru National Academy of Sports Medicine.

     

    Throughout his lengthy career in the medical field, Murphy has also served on the Physical Therapy Examiners Board for the state of Tennessee and the JSCC Advisory committee.

     

    Blake currently treats patients primarily in counties of Dyer, Crockett and Lauderdale.

    Caitlyn East, PTA

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Caitlyn East is a Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated from Jackson State Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant program in May of 2020. Caitlyn has a passion for helping improve the quality of her patient's lives and helping them reach their personal goals. She strives to treat each patient with the respect and compassion they deserve. Caitlyn also strives to be a good role model for her patients by making personal health and fitness one of her hobbies, with the secondary purpose of being able to effectively and safely care for each of them. She also enjoys spending time with her family, going to church, and engaging her artistic side through painting. Overall, Caitlyn is a kind, caring person who is eager to listen and encourage those she comes in contact with.

    Mackenna Butler, PTA

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Mackenna is a physical therapist assistant who graduated from Jackson State Community College in May of 2020. Her interest in physical therapy began while working with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities in high school.

     

    "As a Physical Therapist Assistant, I would say the best part of my job is getting to see my patients do things they never thought they'd be able to do again!" 

    Rebecca Bledsoe, PTA

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Becki has been a PTA for 27 years and worked in almost all rehab settings. Her favorite area of expertise is Geriatrics and has been a Director of Rehab for the past 7 years prior to joining the GeriHab Team. She graduated from Jackson State Community College in 1995 where she studied, worked and took care of her 3 young children as a single mother.

     

    God blessed me over and over many times as I entered this new world of learning. It was hard and my children grew up learning the value of working hard, which they might not have learned had it not been for this hardship in our life. I’m thankful every day for all the trials that have brought me to this new adventure with GeriHab. I am enjoying being part of this Great Team and getting to do what I love the best, which is helping people and making a difference in their day to day life. Every person needs to know they matter and are loved. I have learned through experience that these entities are a vital part of a person’s healing.

    Chelsea Hill, PTA

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Chelsea Hill is a 2016 graduate of Jackson State Community Colleges Physical Therapist Assisyant program. She has worked in outpatient, inpatient, and SNF settings in her career.

     

    My hobbies include: animals, traveling, church, and spending time with friends and family.
